Hi, I am Effi Lind.
I am an Austrian girl, living in Austria’s second “biggest” city Graz (about 300.000 inhabitants). When I was a kid, my goal was to become a genius, like my favorite literary hero, Artemis Fowl. Or at least a wizard like Harry Potter. It didn’t happen for me, but I can’t complain. I got to study literature instead. To be honest, in the beginning I thought that studying Germanistics (literature and language science) was a good way of learning how to write good stories. In hindsight, I am laughing about this naïve idea. Nevertheless, I learned so many usefull skills and I gained a different perspective on language, which helps me to write and edit better.
English is my secret love
Since my mother tounge is German, I have no idea how my English sounds to a native speaker. Especially, because I studied a mixture of British and American English in school. However, I feel the need to write in English. I love this language. Besides, it plays a major role in my life. Since my boyfriend is Israeli, I mostly speak English with him. The same goes for my best friends, who also are from different countries. So, even though I use the English language with a lot of love, I know that I am not doing it without mistakes. I always looking to improve and I am open for your feedback.
Lots of love from Austria to all of the English speaking folks out there!
